Product Description
This split pin (cotter pin) is a critical retention fastener used within the braking system of the Range Rover Classic, typically securing castellated nuts on components such as brake caliper guide pins, wheel hub assemblies, or brake adjuster mechanisms. Once installed and bent, the split pin prevents the associated nut from loosening under vibration and load. Using a worn, straightened, or incorrectly sized split pin risks nut loosening and potential braking system failure.
Key Features
- Single-use mild steel split pin designed for positive locking retention of castellated or slotted nuts
- Must be replaced with a new pin each time the associated nut is disturbed - never reuse a previously bent pin
- Corresponds to OEM specification PS610241L for the Range Rover Classic braking system
- Inspect and replace as part of any brake service involving wheel hub removal, caliper servicing, or steering linkage work
Vehicle Fitment
This split pin is fitted to the Range Rover Classic across its production run as part of the braking system.
