Morel Elate Carbon 6.5" (165mm) 2-Way Component Speaker Set - Active
Product Description
The Morel Elate Carbon 6.5" 2-Way Active Component Speaker Set (MOR ELAT CAR 62A) is the crossover-free, active configuration of the Elate Carbon 62 — placing the MT450 tweeter and 6.5" (165mm) EVC™ woofer on independent DSP-controlled amplifier channels to deliver the full dynamic and acoustic potential of both drivers without the losses, phase shifts and fixed frequency constraints of a passive crossover network. The 62A is the ideal solution for OEM integration builds, custom installs and any 2-way front-stage system where active amplification and DSP processing are in use.
The 6.5" EVC™ woofer — with its 3" Hexatech™ titanium voice coil, triple-layer carbon fibre / Rohacell™ cone, Uniflow™ basket and C.A.R™ filter — is driven on its own dedicated channel with complete control over bandwidth and level. Freed from the reactive loading and insertion loss of a passive crossover, the woofer's transient response, dynamic linearity and distortion performance are all improved. The MT450 tweeter, crossed over actively at the optimal frequency for the vehicle and installation geometry, contributes smooth, detailed high-frequency reproduction with its Acuflex™ dome and dual neodymium motor.
- Active 6.5" 2-way system — no passive crossover; MT450 and EVC™ woofer on independent channels for lossless, precisely controlled operation
- Full DSP optimisation — crossover frequency, slope, time alignment, phase and level for both drivers set entirely in the processor for perfect vehicle-specific integration
- 6.5" EVC™ woofer at full capability — 3" titanium voice coil and carbon fibre / Rohacell™ cone driven by a dedicated amplifier channel with no passive network losses
- MT450 Acuflex™ tweeter — compact 28mm silk dome; discreet installation in factory tweeter positions with full active high-frequency control
For the passive crossover version see MOR ELAT CAR 62. For 3-way active performance see MOR ELAT CAR 63A.
